RARE Award

High school seniors in CCSD who plan to attend an accredited college or university full-time next fall are eligible to apply for a $10,000 scholarship. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Verification of college enrollment will be required over the summer before the scholarship funds are sent directly to the college.

 

Students can apply for the RARE Scholarship through the Public Education Foundation Scholarship Portal starting on October 2024.

Qualifications for the $10K scholarship: Must be A high school senior attending a school in the Clark County School District with GPA of 2.0 and planning to attend a college or university. 

Guidelines

  • By participating in this program, you agree to the RARE Award Rules.

  • High school senior students at the participating schools in CCSD are eligible to apply for a $10,000 scholarship.

  • The winner will be announced upon conclusion of the program. No transfer, substitution, or cash equivalent for the scholarship is allowed, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

  • Scholarship is non-renewable.

  • Considering the unique nature and scope of the R.A.R.E. Awards and the complexity of the technology underlying its administration, Executive Option reserves the right, in addition to the other rights reserved herein, to modify any date(s) or deadline(s) set forth in these Official Rules or otherwise related to R.A.R.E. Awards.

  • Scholarship Program Details: Scholarship applications may only be submitted by high school seniors at participating schools.

What schools are participating? Do I qualify?

All seniors in high school attending a school in CCSD qualify to apply for the scholarship. Student must have a 2.0 GPA or higher to apply. Student must also plan to attend a college or university.

I am a teacher at a CCSD school. Can I apply for a $10,000 scholarship for a student?

No, the students must apply on their own on the PEF portal. If you feel a student is deserving of the award, we encourage you to encourage them to apply.

If I already have a scholarship from another institution, am I eligible to submit an application for the RARE $10,000 scholarship?

Will I be notified if I do not receive the $10,000 scholarship?

Yes, you are eligible to apply and win the RARE scholarship.

If I am selected for the scholarship, when should I expect to receive my disbursement?

Upon approval of enrollment verification and after the school processes the award.

Students can visit the Public Education Foundation to check the status of their application.

Who is reviewing my information?

Students’ personal information will only be visible to RARE and PEF staff.
